Consulting firms across various industries all experience the indirect cost of bench. At Capco, one of the most inefficient operational processes was resource supply and demand. No automated way existed to bridge the gap between role seekers and role owners. Consultants across the globe were demanding more transparency and empowerment on their careers.
Solution
Develop a self-service application that brokers the staffing requests and enables all consultants globally to view all open roles available in the pipeline.
Results
After being in production for 6 months, Capco was able to decrease the average time a consultant spends on bench by 15%. In addition, the application has reduced administrative expenses facilitating the process manually across sales / partners and human capital managers.

Performance Management
Problem
Today's younger workforce are demanding more real-time feedback and less bureaucratic processes in their performance reviews.
Solution
Streamline the complex existing performance cycle by introducing a light weight micro-service application to manage the 4C framework (Core,Community,Commercials,Conduct). Employees can give or receive feedback instantly based on project assignments or contribution work that typically is untraceable. Coaches can now have constructive conversations and view their protegees self-assessments at anytime. Conduct items such as late timesheet submissions are now included in individual performance to improve top-line revenue.
Results
The pilot release reflected employees globally are in more control now of their personal growth. Risk items that impact top-line revenue recognition such as time sheet submissions have dramatically decreased due to the understanding that it will impact their overall performance rating. Protegees have also seen more involvement from their coaches monitoring their self-assessments and 4C metrics.

Problem
Often times large scale organizations silo knowledge among individuals, e-mail and enterprise intranets. To find a simple solution or tap into your corporate assets to supplement project bandwidth is not easy.
Solution
Build a crowdsource platform that promotes collaborative behavior to reduce workloads internally for project teams. Employees can post questions and receive up-voted answers from their global corporate network. In addition, project teams seeking to supplement bandwidth can post mico-tasks to the community and track their contribution in helping.
Results
Over 300 employees participated in contributing to the platform for the 6 month beta release. Application analytics reflected that adoption of collaborative tools was in demand and is a viable infrastructure solution to scale how information is democratized across business units. Capco's parent company FIS (40K+ employees) are now reviewing the platform for possible enterprise adoption across the wider organization.
